Advocacy

The East Coast Asian American Student Union strives to advocate on behalf of Asian American college and college-aged youth through a series of innovative, engaging campaigns that tackle some of the most pressing issues facing Asian and Asian American youth.  These student campaigns are completely student-run, and feature partnerships with outstanding Asian American nonprofit organizations that seek to foster Asian American youth empowerment in a number of different fields.

In the past, ECAASU has developed campaigns relating to:

• Census Involvement
• Civic Engagement
• Student Issues
• Media Engagement
• Voter Empowerment

For the 2011-2012 year, our primary focus is to promote Asian American studies programs across the East Coast. We invite you to challenge yourself and learn more about these issues as we seek to educate ourselves about them, empower one another to create changes where we deem them necessary and urgent, and equip students with the tools necessary to affect change.
