ECAASU Trailblazer Award

Do you know a student who is paving the way and blazing trails for activism and advocacy in the Asian Pacific American community on your campus?
The ECAASU National Team is soliciting nominations of students who inspire, educate and empower those interested in Asian American & Pacific Islander issues. As a new initiative to honor those who whose work fits with our mission and goals, ECAASU has created the ECAASU Trailblazer Award to recognize those students who have significantly impacted his or her community. This award of over $500 is sponsored by the Asian Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, the Asian Pacific Islander American Institute for Congressional Studies and the Asian Pacific American Coalition of Connecticut. Every two weeks leading up to the ECAASU 2012 Student Conference at Duke University, a Trailblazer Award nominee will be chosen by the ECAASU National Team as a finalist.
Trailblazer Award Finalists will:
- Receive a certificate recognizing his or her accomplishments at the 2012 Conference Trailblazer Award Reception
- Be featured on the ECAASU website for the month
- Highlighted in an ECAASU Digest
At the ECAASU 2012 Conference, finalists will be recognized at a reception and the winner for ECAASU’s Trailblazer Award will be chosen by conference attendees.
The winner of the Trailblazer Award will:
- Receive a certificate recognizing his or her accomplishments as the recipient of ECAASU’s Trailblazer Award
- Be featured on the ECAASU website
- Highlighted in an ECAASU Digest
- Win a scholarship of an amount to be determined to further his or her education.
Students must be nominated by their peers, co-workers or supervisors. Nomination applications must be completed by the last Friday of each month.
