Recognizing Students

Have you noticed a group that has been really making moves in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community?

We’re looking for nominations for the ECAASU 2019 Community Builder Award, which is awarded to an organization, coalition, or campus that has brought together and uplifted their communities to support social justice, among and/or within an Asian American and/or Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. This community work may include, but is not limited to, efforts related to race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, health and wellness, gender, or civic engagement. A community can be an entire university campus, a university student organization, or a group outside the context of a school. The honorees will be announced during the Closing Ceremony at the 2019 ECAASU Conference.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be attending, or have at least one representative attending the 2019 ECAASU Conference and be able to accept the award in person

  2. Must be based at a high school, a 2- or 4- year institution of higher learning, or a trade/technical program

Nominations due: Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 5:00pm EST. Self-nominations are allowed. Please note applications will be assessed on the responses to the short answer prompts of the award. In an attempt to eliminate any biases in the evaluation process, we will be anonymizing your submission before review.
