Did you know that the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) population has increasing exponentially? In the 1990 Census, only 6.9 million resided in the United States. According to the 2010 Census, there are now over 18.5 Asian and Pacific Islanders living in the United States, more than any other time in the nation’s history. Just in twenty years, the population has increased more than 250 percent! The Asian and Pacific Islander population growth has surpassed that of any other racial group. Out of the total population, Asian and Pacific Islanders make up 6 percent.
