Chelsey Gao

Chelsey is a second-generation Chinese American from Alpharetta, Georgia. She is currently a senior at Georgia Tech studying Public Policy with a minor in Global Development. On campus, she has served as President of the Chinese Student Association and has also served as Education Chair of the Asian American Student Association, educating the community on advocacy issues. She is also involved in Diversity Ambassadors, a group that helps facilitate discussion about inclusion on campus, and is an LGBTQIA Safe Space Facilitator, helping facilitate trainings on inclusivity for LGTBTQ students. She also serves on the National Board of Sparks Magazine, a nonprofit organization that supports student run publications for Asian and Pacific Islander American communities. She is interested in issues concerning community development and inclusive city planning, exploring what it means to be an Asian American from/in the South, and the intersections of being queer and Asian.

Previously, Chelsey was Advocacy Communications Coordinator.
