Nicholas L Hatcher

Nick is a mixed Chinese American Activist and Media Artist based in Cary, NC. They graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Media Production where they were involved in a number of arts, social justice, and innovation organizations and earned the Walter S. Spearman Award for outstanding leadership, academics, and character. Notably, they were the Director of Communications of UNC's Center for Social Justice where they also co-led The Arc, a student-written publication on social justice topics. In their other work, they explore the intersections of science, art, and social justice through media like documentary filmmaking, photography, zines, and writing. They are especially interested in building platforms for queer and neurodivergent people of color and they enjoy film, theatre, martial arts, hiking, crafts, voter registration, and being unabashedly Southern.

Previously, Nick was on the 2017 Conference Team and was the Director of Communications for the 2017-2018 National Board.
