Shelley is a second-generation Korean American from Staten Island, New York. She graduated from Binghamton University with majors in Asian and Asian American Studies and Psychology and a minor in Education. At school, she served in various leadership positions through participation in student publications and student administration. In the past, Shelley has worked as an intern at Coalition for Asian American Children and Families and Korean American League for Civic Action in New York City. As a first generation college student, she developed a passion for educational equity and mental healthcare access in communities of color. Shelley continues to explore these passions through her work as a College Counselor at a New York City public high school. This will be Shelley's third year serving on the National Board; she previously served as a Fundraising Coordinator and Director of Development for ECAASU.
