Oversees ECAASU's strategy and operations, ensuring impactful programs while leading initiatives like leadership development, long-term planning, and coordinating with the Board of Directors.

Lulu Griffin

They are a graduate student at Georgetown University, pursuing a Master’s in Public Humanities through methods in Applied Sociolinguistics. They graduated from the College of William & Mary in May 2025 with majors in Linguistics and Asian & Pacific Islander American Studies, and also served as Creative Expressions Chair for the Asian American Student Initiative (AASI).  Outside of classes, Lulu can be found drinking an iced matcha and/or taking silly 0.5 pictures with friends.
Sean Faletti

Associate Director
He is a first-year graduate student pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Miami. In his undergraduate career at Florida State University, Sean was involved in the Asian American Student Union, South Asian Student Association, and the Beta Theta Chapter of Lambda Phi Epsilon International Fraternity Inc. In his free time, Sean can be found writing and performing music, reading, skateboarding, or reminiscing about “Doogal” (2006).
Sydney Donahue

She is a mixed Chinese American from Massachusetts. She is a rising senior at Suffolk University in Boston studying criminal justice and completing her paralegal certification. She is passionate about reform and uplifting her communities as she also sits on the E-board of Suffolk’s Asian American Association. She loves photography, horrible tv and is so excited to be joining ECAASU!
Joanna Yeh

Conference Associate Director
An aspiring organizer, scholar, and artist, Joanna Yeh is the ECAASU 2026 Conference Associate Director. Joanna is a recent graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), where she earned her undergraduate degree in Women’s and Gender Studies and Political Science. Joanna developed a passion for advocacy through the grassroots organizing communities at UNC where she focused on Asian American activism and establishing an Asian American Studies program at the flagship university. Most recently, Joanna’s work includes directing the Triangle-Area Asian American Conference (TAASCON), teaching a university course, and engaging with community organizing on UNC’s campus.  In her free time, Joanna enjoys dancing ballet or Chinese dance, and cooking.
Sawyer Poulsen

Advocacy Coordinator
He is a Chinese adoptee from Kaifeng, China. He is passionate about connecting and engaging with the AANHPI community. Through organizations like APIAVote, the East Coast Asian American Student Union (ECAASU), Florida Asian American Student Union (FAASU), and various collegiate organizations, he is able to help build upon these communities while also building his network. Sawyer is a rising senior at the University of West Florida studying Public Health. He hopes to empower the Asian American community through his work and the continuation of serving as an ally. In his free time, Sawyer enjoys watching sports, listening to music, going on walks, and spending time with friends.
Emily Schwartz

Advocacy Coordinator
She is a biracial Chinese American from the Boston area. She spent three summers at a grassroots community organization in Boston’s Chinatown, where she helped organize for legislative campaigns and support civic engagement programming. She is currently a junior at Harvard studying Sociology, American Studies through History & Literature, and Chinese language. At college, she serves on the board and as fundraising co-chair of the center for volunteering and community organizing on campus, helps run an after-school program at a local school, reports for the school newspaper, and leads backpacking trips to welcome first-year students to college. In her free time, she likes to run, read, and find chai in each place she visits.

High School Programs Coordinator
She is a sophomore at Georgetown University and will be returning as one of this year's ECAASU High School Program Co-Coordinators (also as a proud High School Program alum)! With ECAASU, Emma has been able to work high school students to develop political advocacy and leadership skills.  In her free time, Emma enjoys reading Chinese literature, watching films, and meeting up with friends over iced chai lattes at local coffee shops.

They are an undergraduate student at the George Washington University studying sociology and Asian American studies. The proud daughter of two Chinese immigrants and a jiejie to a brother, she grew up in Midwestern Chinese schools and badminton lessons, which sparked her passion for cultivating resilient, tight-knit communities. From grassroots base-building to political education, Angel embraces all the nitty gritty of movement building.

She is a Junior at Georgetown University and ECCASU’s High School Program Coordinator. Raised between the United States and China, Judy is passionate about Asian & Asian American advocacy through curriculum reform in public and private school systems and empowering youth change makers. In her free time, Judy is a graphic designer and enjoys hip hop dance and cooking!

She is a Filipino and Indonesian American born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i and is now a junior at Georgetown University in Washington, DC studying Justice & Peace Studies and English. She is passionate about promoting Asian American representation and creativity and loves to write, sing, and do her makeup! This year, Mara is so excited to be a part of the amazing ECAASU community again!
Sam Lee

He is a second-generation diasporic Korean settler, born and raised on Wampanoag and Massachusett land (Boston). He is a rising senior at the George Washington University (GWU) which stands on Nacotchtank and Piscataway land (Washington, D.C.), majoring in Archaeology with minors in Asian American & Korean Studies. For fun, Sam enjoys getting his daily matcha and continuously pursuing his academic interests within Critical Ethnic Studies. Being new to National Board, Sam is excited to experience what it is like to be a part of a large-scale organization like ECAASU.
Jaz Sisouvong

Artist in Residence Coordinator
They are a Vietnamese Chinese (Hoa) and Thai Laotian (Isan) American artist who hails from Woodbridge, Virginia. A junior in Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts' Communication Arts program, Jaz finds communicative design and Asian/American representation as her life's calling. In her free time, she can be found either drawing anime, engaging in creative writing, editing a video, learning too many languages she has no time for, or tampering with DAWs—and when she's not up to one of those things, she can be found with her nose buried in a sociology book or a fantasy romance novel.

They are a Chinese American from Charlottesville, Virginia, currently serving as ECAASU Journal Co-Coordinator. He graduated with a BA in English from William & Mary where he served as the most recent content editor for the Art & Hatsuye magazine and layout editor for the James Blair Historical Review. They're currently transitioning into a career in publishing through the Columbia Publishing Course. In their free time, Crys enjoys writing bad poetry and shooting arrows in the woods.

They are a graduate student at Columbia University in the East Asian Languages and Culture department. As a Taiwanese-Japanese young professional in their mid-twenties, New York City remains their home. Transitioning from their undergrad studies in postcolonial Asian history, they hope to continue their LGBTQ+ organizing work towards a future that encompasses a futurity oriented towards international solidarities. A huge believer in the humanities in academic and non-academic settings, you can always find them reading books and articles at home, on the subway, or in local restaurants and cafés.

She is a Vietnamese American born in Maryland. She is passionate about uplifting the Asian American narrative told through student voices and is excited to serve as the Fundraising Coordinator for this term! Outside of ECAASU, you can find Mylieni listening to album tracks in chronological order, buying Smiskis, and drinking Sheetz milkshakes.
Ellet Merriman

Born in China and raised in Vermont, Ellett is a proud Chinese adoptee who has dedicated her academic and extracurricular journey to fostering cultural representation, mental wellness, and community engagement. She recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. During her time at UVM, she was a passionate advocate for Asian American student voices, serving as Vice President and Student Advisor for the Asian Student Union. With a deep interest in the intersection of mental health, art, and healthcare, Ellett is currently on a well deserved break before beginning dental school.

She is a rising senior at Suffolk University studying Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy and Law. At Suffolk, she is the Vice President of the Asian American Association, where they aim to educate others about Asian culture and foster an inclusive environment on campus. In her free time, Natalie is often trying new cafes in Boston, attempting to play the guitar, and collecting Snoopy trinkets. She is an avid Mclaren, LA Dodgers, and Boston Red Sox fan.
Casey Ly

He is a Vietnamese American based in Sugar Land, Texas and as of this school year (2025-2026), he is a Junior studying Environmental Engineering at Florida State University. He is involved around campus as Event Coordinator, Vietnamese Language Teacher, and President of his school's Vietnamese Student Association (VSA), Historian for the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), and as a regular member and performer at FSU's Asian American Student Union (AASU). Outside of academics and involvements, he enjoys art and music including playing instruments, photography, videography, and graphic design.

She is a curious soul who graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Public Health and a minor in Marketing & Communication. At JHU, she was deeply involved in the Inter-Asian Council and loved building community as a Residential Advisor. Whether she’s hopping between countries, swapping stories with new friends, or getting lost in a local market, Shantika finds joy in discovering how people live, laugh, and connect. She believes storytelling is one of the best ways to build bridges, and she’s always collecting moments to share.

She is a first-generation Vietnamese American, born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She's a Senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), majoring in Computer Science. Previously, Lena served as President of UNCC's Asian Student Association, Public Relations Director of the Asian American Studies Collaborative, and been involved in other various A/A orgs. In her free time, Lena enjoys working out, baking, and spending endless hours playing Stardew Valley.
Huá Huī Vogel

He is a Transracial Chinese Adoptee, identifies as an LGBTQ+ person, an Ambulatory Wheelchair User, and Disabled. As an Honors student at Florida International University (FIU), they are double majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies and Liberal Studies in Law, Business, and Society with a Minor in Business. He is an intersectional advocate focused on information sharing, coalition building, community building, and sustainability, as well as long-term planning.  He is also a professional photographer. In his free time, he is a fitness enthusiast, a plant lover, and a sci-fi enthusiast.
