Meet National Board 2026-2027

They are a graduate student at Georgetown University, pursuing a Master’s in Public Humanities through methods in Applied Sociolinguistics. They graduated from the College of William & Mary in May 2025 with majors in Linguistics and Asian & Pacific Islander American Studies, and also served as Creative Expressions Chair for the Asian American Student Initiative (AASI).  Outside of classes, Lulu can be found drinking an iced matcha and/or taking silly 0.5 pictures with friends.

Ngan Le is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Health Policy and Management. She serves as Executive Director of Asian Youth Act, Conference Co-Chair of the Minority Health Conference, and Co-President of the Gillings Student Government Association. Across youth organizing, public health research, and social entrepreneurship, she has helped mobilize millions through education, advocacy, and collective action. Her work explores health equity and Vietnamese American storytelling through projects like Bánh Mì and Beyond. Ngan loves hosting tea, trying new recipes with loved ones, and learning from the stories people carry with them.

She is of Indian ancestry and currently lives in Northern Virginia. In May 2026, she graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in mathematics. During her undergraduate studies, Manya was involved in the South Asian Student Association (SASA) and served as treasurer for the Asian American Student Initiative (AASI). In the fall of 2027, she will be attending Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) as part of a BS/MD program. You might find her weightlifting, bouldering, or collecting Pokémon cards.

Nara is a senior at Stuyvesant High School in New York City. As a Korean American student organizer, she is passionate about advancing Asian American advocacy, gender equity, public health, and youth leadership. She serves as President of Stuyvesant SPAid, contributes to the New York City Asian American Student Conference, conducts research on health disparities affecting Asian American women, and loves bioethics. Outside of organizing, Nara enjoys writing poetry, competing in public forum debate, figure skating, and exploring new cafés!

Samanyu is a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Health Policy and Management and Migration, Displacement, and Diaspora. A queer South Asian organizer, they are passionate about political education, health equity, Asian American studies, immigrant and refugee justice, and building spaces where people can connect identity to action. On campus, Samanyu organizes with transparUNCy and works across public health, advocacy, and community education. He is especially excited to create thoughtful, accessible Community Studies programming that centers overlooked histories, solidarity, and collective power. Outside of organizing, Samanyu loves getting coffees, calligraphy, and raising his plant babies!

She is a Korean American student from Greenville, NC. She is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte majoring in Biology with a minor in Public Health. She previously served as the Vice President of the Korean American Student Association and excited to be a Co-Community Studies Coordinator for ECAASU! Raised by a strong food-focused community, she is interested in food policy and integrating Asian American cuisines into nutrition education. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, trying new foods, collecting cookbooks and ps-ps-ps-ing at every cat she encounters.

Anika Ahammad is a Muslim and Bangladeshi-American who grew up in what is now known as Falls Church, Virginia. She graduated from William and Mary in 2025 double majoring in Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) Studies and American Studies. She also served as APIA Studies Chair for the Asian American Student Initiative (AASI) at W&M. Passionate about using art as a creative force for organizing and collective liberation, Anika crochets to fundraise for mutual aid locally in Virginia but also in Palestine, Sudan, and the Global South. In her free time, she likes to weightlift, draw, play video games, crochet, read, and collect things because she’s a hoarder at heart.

Jaz Sisouvong (she/they) is a Vietnamese Chinese and Thai Laotian American artist who hails from Woodbridge, Virginia. A junior at Virginia Commonwealth University, Jaz explores the intersections of racial representation in pop culture through illustration and sociology, where she finds communicative design and Asian/American representation as her life's calling. In her free time, she can be found crafting up her fantasy romance IP, editing a video and tampering with DAWs, learning too many languages she has no time for, or her nose buried in a book.

Dominique is a first-generation Indian and Jamaican American who recently graduated from St. John Fisher University with majors in Film & Spanish, and throughout her undergrad, she was deeply involved in Asian Student Union as Vice-President. Dominique is very passionate about uplifting voices, showing representation, and bringing community together through creative work such as film and photography. Dominique loves connecting with people and learning new things. In her free time, she enjoys baking, pottery, learning new languages, playing instruments, and reading. Dominique is currently working on getting her MSed for bilingual education and M.S. in Film!

Crystal is a Chinese American from Charlottesville, Virginia, currently serving as ECAASU Journal Co-Coordinator. They graduated with a BA in English from William & Mary where they served as the most recent content editor for the Art & Hatsuye magazine. After completing the Columbia Publishing Course, Crystal moved to New York where they work now as an editorial assistant for a book publisher. In their free time, they enjoy writing bad poetry and shooting arrows in the woods.

Anya Bierweiler-Franks (she/her) is a recent University of Vermont graduate, where she studied English and Asian Studies. Having been born in Kazakhstan and raised in New Hampshire, she used her experience as an adoptee while serving on the Executive Board of the Asian Student Union during her three years of undergraduate studies. In her free time, Anya enjoys reading, writing, collaging, and going on walks around Burlington, Vermont. She is an aspiring writer and currently works as a Marketing and Events Coordinator.

Paolo Estrella is from Claremont, California, and is a rising senior at American University studying Political Science with a concentration in American Government, as well as Economics. On campus, he serves as president of the Philippine-American Coalition. Off campus, he is finance director for the East Coast Asian American Student Union, volunteers with Horton’s Kids, and engages in lobbying and human rights activism. His interests include guitar, photography, and collecting books.

Natalie Huoth (She/Her) is a recent Political Science graduate from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. She is taking a gap year before she pursues grad school and enjoys exploring new cafes in Boston.

He is a Vietnamese American based in Sugar Land, TX, and Orlando, FL, studying Environmental Engineering at Florida State University. He is heavily involved around his campus's cultural spaces through his presence in FSU's Vietnamese Student Association (VSA), Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), and regional organizations such as the Union of VSA's of the Southeast, and of course, ECAASU! Outside of academics and involvements, he enjoys art and music including playing instruments, photography, videography, and graphic design.

He is an Indian American who grew up in Toronto, an alumn of UNC Charlotte with a degree in data science. Throughout his undergrad, he played league of legends as a varsity athlete, and was the video editor and web coordinator for Niner Esports. In his free time, he can be found in the gym, hiking, or climbing!
